Company Overview

QA Solucity helps businesses test and improve their digital products, while creating pathways for aspiring and growing QA professionals through practical training, industry-recognized certification prep, and practical, hands-on opportunities. We work across manual testing, automation, API and performance testing, QA consulting, and training, which is exactly the range of work you'll be exposed to here.

Role Summary

We're looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join our testing team and help build automation coverage across a range of client products. You'll be working on hands-on client work from day one, not a sandbox project, alongside a small team that actually reviews and mentors on your work.

This role sits at the intersection of manual QA judgment and automation engineering. We're not looking for someone who only writes scripts. We want someone who understands why a test matters before automating it.

What a typical week looks like

  • Pairing with a QA lead to scope what's worth automating on a client engagement
  • Building and maintaining Playwright or Selenium suites
  • Reviewing test failures and deciding: genuine bug, or flaky test?
  • Occasional manual exploratory testing when a release needs an extra pair of eyes

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright and Selenium
  • Work with the QA team to decide what should be automated vs. tested manually
  • Integrate automated suites into client CI/CD pipelines
  • Triage and stabilize flaky tests so the suite stays trustworthy
  • Occasionally step into manual exploratory testing when a release needs an extra pair of eyes

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on QA automation experience
  • Comfortable with Playwright, Selenium, or a similar framework
  • Solid understanding of manual testing fundamentals
  • A reliable laptop and a stable internet connection, since this is a remote role and dropped calls or missed handoffs cost the whole team time
  • Able to work core hours that overlap with WAT (Lagos time)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with API testing tools like Postman
  • Exposure to performance testing tools like k6 or JMeter
